Delete Completed Tasks on QuickLists
A QuickList that has been running for a while fills up with completed tasks. You can clear them all out in one action and leave only the work still outstanding.
Delete the completed tasks
- Open the QuickList.
- Find the trash button labelled completed above the task list. It appears only when the list actually has completed tasks and you have permission to edit it.
- Click it.
There is no confirmation prompt. The completed tasks are removed the moment you click, so be sure before you do. This is the one thing worth knowing about this feature.
What is removed
- Every completed task in the list, along with its subtasks.
- Tasks still outstanding are untouched, and the list refreshes to show what is left.
The account's activity history still records what happened, so clearing the list is not the same as erasing the fact that the work was done. But the tasks themselves are gone from the list and cannot be ticked back.
If you want to keep the record
If the completed tasks are something you will need to look at again, do not clear them. Hiding completed tasks from view, where that is available, leaves them in place. Clearing is for a working list you genuinely want to reset.
