Configuring Notifications into Microsoft Teams

Once Microsoft Teams is connected, Manifestly can send your notifications to you as Teams chats instead of, or as well as, email. You choose which ones.

Turn on Teams notifications

  1. Go to your notification settings from your profile.
  2. Open the MS Teams tab.
  3. Tick the notifications you want sent to Teams, and save.

The MS Teams tab appears only once Teams is connected for you. If you cannot see it, the connection has not been made for your user yet rather than the setting being hidden. See Microsoft Teams – Getting Started with Manifestly.

Each channel's tab has a Turn all off button, which is the quickest way to stop a channel entirely without unticking a dozen boxes.

What Teams can send

Nine notification types are available on Teams:

  • Step assigned to you
  • Step late, and run late
  • Run almost late
  • Run completed
  • Invited to a run
  • Reminders
  • Mentions
  • New user added to the account

What stays on email

Email carries five things Teams does not, so leave email on unless you are sure you do not want them:

  • Daily report and weekly report, the digests
  • Comment notifications
  • Step completed notifications
  • Product announcements

These are the longer-format messages, which do not read well as a chat. Turning off all email and relying on Teams alone means silently losing them.

A sensible split

The combination most people settle on is Teams for anything needing a response today, assignments, late work, mentions, and email for the digests and anything you would rather read in one sitting. Sending the same event to both channels is the fastest way to teach yourself to ignore both.
