Receiving notifications within a Slack Channel
You can point a workflow, or one particular run, at a Slack channel. Manifestly then posts that work's notifications into the channel, so a team following along in Slack sees progress without opening Manifestly.
On a workflow
Set the Slack channel in the workflow's settings. Every run started from that workflow posts to the channel, which is what you want for an ongoing process a team owns.
On a single run
Set the channel on the run instead, in its settings, and only that run's notifications go there. Useful when one piece of work belongs to a project channel that the workflow as a whole does not.

Before it will work
- Private channels need the Manifestly bot invited, or they will not appear in the list. See Private Slack Channels.
- Channels with posting restrictions need the bot added as an allowed poster, or messages silently never arrive. See Slack Channels and Restricted Access.
Channel or direct message
Channel notifications are about visibility for a group; they are not a substitute for personal notifications. Someone assigned a step should be getting a direct notification, not relying on spotting it in a busy channel. Set both, aimed at different things. See Notifications Overview.
