Import users from a CSV file
You can import users into a department from a spreadsheet. This can help you add new users or sync your existing users with the spreadsheet. Start by opening the department and going to the department’s Users tab.
Start the import
- Navigate to the department you want to manage.
- Open the Users tab.
- Click Import from file.
CSV file format
The file must be a CSV with the following columns:
- name
- role
- title (optional)
Columns should appear in any order, but each row should include the required fields (email, name, and role). The title column is optional.
Review the import results
- After selecting the file, you will see a list of users indicating whether you are adding a new user or editing an existing user, along with the permissions for the new users.
- At the bottom, you’ll see current users who are not in the file. You can choose to ignore them or delete the ones that aren’t in the file from the import step.
- The import process can both sync your users with the spreadsheet or simply add new users.
Finalize the import
- When everything looks correct, click Confirm import.
- You will then see the imported users listed in the department, with their titles and roles (for example: Ian, Jan, and John).
