Step subtasks
You can create sub tasks for that step. You can set these sub tasks to be required or optional when completing the step. Sub tasks are lightweight—without the ability to collect data, assign, or other features available in a step. You can enforce that they're done and you can see who did that.
Configure sub tasks for a step
What you can configure
- Set each sub task as Required or Optional for the step's completion.
- Track whether sub tasks have been completed and by whom.
How to create sub tasks
- Open the detailed content of the step you want to augment.
- Create one or more sub tasks for that step.
- For each sub task, choose whether it is Required or Optional for the step's completion.
- Save your changes.
Using sub tasks in a run
What you will see
In a workflow run, you will see the step with its sub tasks. These sub tasks can be marked as Required before you can complete the step.
Completing a step with sub tasks
- Try to complete the step. If any Required sub tasks are not finished, the system will block you from completing the step.
- Complete all Required sub tasks.
- After all Required sub tasks are complete, you can complete the step.
- You can see who completed each sub task.
