Using Manifestly inside private DMs and group DMs

Slack does not allow bots access to interact with private DMs or group DMs. There are three main ways to utilize the Manifestly service in Slack:

1. From the ManifestlyBot home tab (video example)
2. As a direct message to the ManifestlyBot
3. In a channel – public or private

Public Channels

In Slack, by default, Bots can interact with all public channels

Private Channels

For private channels, you’ll need to invite the ManifestlyBot to that channel. See our article on inviting a Bot to a private channel.

Group DMs

If you have a DM between yourself and another person or group of people, our Bot cannot interact with this private DM.
