Role based assignments let you assign steps to a role instead of a specific person in the workflow.
This is especially important for when the person who has that role changes or when several people might have the same role, but the person responsible changes from checklist to checklist.
For example, let’s say you have an employee onboarding workflow that has tasks that need to be done by a person in IT. You can assign those tasks to the IT role in the workflow. Then when you create a new checklist run using that workflow, you can set which person in IT has that role for this checklist and the system will assign all IT steps to that person.
